Advisors
The Federal Way Police Explorer Program relies on department and community members to suceed. All adults involved with the program must pass background checks. All Advisors volunteer to join the program and take on the additional duties as a collateral assignment. (Except Field Advisors) Below are examples of how each person supports the post.
Lead Advisor Ofc. Tucker
The lead Advisor oversees the program and reports to the designated FWPD Commander. The duties include:
- Financial accountablity
- Background Checks
- Supervisor to Associate Advisors during Explorer Events
- Internal Investigations (Explorer related)
- Event logistics
- Equipment
- Whatever else that is needed
Associate Advisors Ofc. Hodge, Det. Krusey, Det. Otto, Det. Castro
The Associate Advisor assist the Lead Advisor as needed. Their duties may include:
- Supervising General Meetings
- Training
- Background Checks
- Internal Investigations (Explorer Related)
- Supervising Events
- Represents FWPD at WLEEA meetings and Events
- Equipment
- Duties as assigned
Field Advisor
The Field Advisor is a uniformed member of the department that supervises Explorers only at events.
Civilian Committee Member K. Kirk
The Civilian Committee Member is a Police volunteer that assists the post in training and supervision.
